Fantastic house with a great view of the bay. I am right on the bay and have steps leading down to the water. The house is in a private neighborhood so it is usually very quiet unless it's a holiday. I have a kayak available for use as well as a few fishing poles. The inside of the house is kept clean and has 2 queen bedrooms and one room with 2 twin beds. I am new to Homeaway but I have over 40 five star reviews through another rental site, if you would like references I can send you a few.. The house is split into a duplex and I live on the left side almost full time with my 2 well behaved dogs.

Welcome to Sunset Point Farm, an 80+ acre estate located on Craddock Creek, one of the cleanest and least populous creeks on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. In addition to the osprey, bald eagles, numerous species of herons, various types of shorebirds, and ENDLESS types of songbirds, we have a very old and very active Blue Heron Rookery on the property. I could watch the show from my kayak for hours. If you love to fish, then bring your fly rod. Serious inquiries only will get the insider’s guide to where to find 40+ pound red drum in June. If you are a hunter, we have guided deer, duck, goose and bird hunting on the property and other leased properties on the Shore. Charter trips and guided tours can be arranged with a local expert. Accommodations at the 2 story, 4 BR, 2.5 Bath creekside residence comfortably accommodates 8 with bright & airy rooms tastefully decorated by 3rd generation owner and artist Ellen McCaleb. The 1st floor consists of a king bedroom suite with walk-in shower, casually furnished living room/parlor, formal dining room w/fireplace (best described as elegant) and a large remodeled kitchen with new gas stove/oven, refrigerator, marble counter tops and eat-in area. Just off the kitchen is a carpeted, screened porch with a dining set. Adjacent to the porch is a large deck complete with a nice grill. The 2nd floor features 3 BRs with 2 king bed, a queen and a single with bedding that you’d find in an upscale hotel and furnished showing great attention to detail. Off the hallway is a large bathroom with a honeycombed tiled floor, wood vanity, claw foot tub and separate shower stall giving the room a classy posh look and feel. Exterior amenities include a screened-in porch off the kitchen, open deck, dock. I firmly believe that the quality of a vacation directly correlates to the quality of sleep during your stay. To that end, I promise you that the mattresses are very comfortable and the linens are super soft (800-1600 Egyptian cotton). In addition, the bedrooms each have stylish, light-blocking roman shades, beautiful artwork and A/C you control. Some of my all-time favorite things to do: 1) have drinks/grill on the back deck, listen to the barn swallows hunt and the dragonflies patrol the yard while the sun sets. 2) kayak out during the “golden hour” when sunlight is scrumptious and the creek is buzzing with the circle of life (the bigger fish are going about their business of eating little fish…which is magic to see and hear), the water can be soooo quiet and smooth as glass. I never tire of this. 3) Kayak to the Craddock Creek sand bar (lots of people there on a Sunday after church, but virtually no one is there during the week). Imagine being the only people on earth, standing on a sandy bit of land and seeing dolphin, pelicans, herons and more swim and fly around you. This experience cannot be beat. 4) taking a walk around the shore when the tide is out… looking for treasures, like arrow heads, bone beads and birds 5) there is no substitute for time spent on the water…the story that unfolds in front of you – no two days are ever alike. 6) take excursions to various destinations that are within an hour drive: Chincoteague, Assateague, and Virginia Beach to name a few. 7) help our local commercial fisherman out on his morning run…it’s an incredible experience to get up early and go fishing Don't hesitate to contact us with questions. A redeveloped historic school with PRIVATE ENTRANCE, the Cape Charles Lofts are centrally located in downtown Cape Charles, just a short stroll from the beach. You can always take the kayaks out or take a raft to the beach. You might be the only person on the beach that day or in the water. If it is your first day you might need to go to the store for fresh foods . You won't need any staples they are already in the refrigerator and cupboards.Spices, flour, sugar, coffee, tea , mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, creamer, relish and eggs for you first breakfast are on hand. You won't need to bring sheets , towels or beach towels. There is a washer and dryer in the garage in case you need to wash any clothes. You will find a refrigerator in the garage to keep your beverages cold. There is also a private commode in the garage . Great outside private shower , inside bath has a whirlpool tub. In the evening their are 2 TV's on Cable with 100's of channels. Great restaurants in various towns not to far away. Cape Charles is worth the trip, very quaint town on the water. You will find menus from various places plus Ocean City, Chincoteague and Virginia Beach not to far away for a day trip. You can always go to Onnancock and take the boat to Tangier Island for the day and really step back in time (original English Settlement). There are golf courses and fishing trips nearby as well. If you like to cook inside or out you will find everything you need, even cookbooks . Throw a few things in a suitcase, you won't need much at my little paradise on the bay and yes we have WI FI and a land line!!
